The “H.H.S. Class of 1967 Scholarship” has been established by fifteen contributors from the Hughesville High School Class of 1967. This endowed scholarship was established in 2017 as part of their 50th class reunion celebration with the intent of annually assisting an outstanding HHS graduate further their education. The H.H.S Class of 1967 Scholarship shall be administered by the East Lycoming Education Foundation.

An amount up to $1,000 will be awarded annually to a graduating senior of Hughesville High School who is continuing their education at a two or four-year accredited public institution of higher learning and meets the designated scholarship qualifications as determined by the selection committee, which shall be composed of district representatives.
The Hughesville High School Class of 1967 is proud to “give back” to the community and school that helped mold the individuals that we became. We feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to be raised and educated in the greater Hughesville area. The plaque below, which was dedicated to the school along with the planting of a tree in 2017, says it best:

“Like branches on a tree….we may grow in
different directions, but our roots remain as one.”

Basic Qualifications/Criteria for selection:
This scholarship will not necessarily be awarded to the candidate with the most outstanding scholastic achievements, but rather to a student who has demonstrated and achieved a combination of high moral character, integrity, leadership, community involvement and academic achievement. The ideal candidate should also show evidence of volunteerism, activities and employment.

The qualification and selection of the scholarship recipient are determined by the Scholarship Committee as selected by the district. Each student applying for the scholarship must complete the application process by the due date and the application must be complete with all attachments to be considered valid.
