A Message from the Superintendent
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the East Lycoming School District web page….Home of the Spartans! It is with much pride that I encourage you to spend some time on our website learning about our school district. From our web page, information ranging from our course of studies guides to board policy and band to basketball is just a click away. If you have any questions, please feel free to give me a call.

For those of you that are not familiar with our district, the East Lycoming School District is located in the eastern portion of Lycoming County in Central Pennsylvania. The total population of the district is just over 10,500 residents, and the District serves 1650 students from pre-K through 12th grade. The district was formed in 1957 and consists of three elementary schools as well as a Junior/Senior High School.

Our main campus, which contains the Hughesville Junior/Senior High School, as well as the Joseph Ashkar Elementary school, sits on 170 immaculately maintained acres. Our campus includes a three-acre solar array and over 40 acres of Hybrid Willow, which is used to supplement the heat in our Junior/Senior High School. Multiple athletic fields fill the rest of our campus and provide space for not only school teams, but also many youth sports leagues. The Carl Renn Elementary School is located in Lairdsville, and the George Ferrell Elementary School is located in Picture Rocks.

The East Lycoming School District is very proud of the academic, artistic and athletic accomplishments that our students have achieved. We offer a very robust selection of Advanced Placement courses, Dual Enrollment courses, and electives that allow all of our students to showcase their artistic, musical, and visual arts talents. The district also offers a full complement of PIAA Varsity and Junior Varsity programs. Please go to www.homeofthespartans.com for additional athletic information.

None of our success would be possible without the support that we receive from our community. Hughesville is truly a remarkable place! Please come and “check us out.” Spartan pride is contagious!
